Minutes 10.29

Meeting called to order at 20:16 in GSC MPR (if you don’t know where, too bad)
People present: 5

Screened: "The Made for TV Election"

Group confirmed previous votes for allocation funds were in fact motions that passed in votes, even if the minutes weren’t all fancy-pantsy about it.
Selected screening for tonight longer than most, so not much in way of discussion occurred.
Next screening to be determined via Facebook group participatory vote, as few were in attendance. Those up for grabs are “Rivers and Tides” and “Helvetica” at this point. Decision to be made by Sun, Nov. 2.

Screenings will continue to be in GSC MPR. Weds. 815pm.

"Swing State Ohio" screened

Group confirmed the next theme will be based on other clubs’ responses to SFX asking for interest and pairing.
Treasurer bought popcorn.

Screenings will continue to be in Gold Student Center Multipurpose Room.
Next week is last of voting/election themed

Meeting called to order at 20:21

"Our Brand Is Crisis" Screened

Group confirmed the next theme will be decided on Oct 22nd.
Group popcorn preference. Exact budget allocation voted on was largest quantity available for around $30. Treasurer will use Pitzer’s Costco card to buy.
Secretary will again try to acquire JPEG template for posters.

Next week will be in Gold Student Center Multipurpose Room (unless in the very rare chance there is a severe heat wave).

Meeting called to order at 20:17
# of people present: 5 + 3 newbies

"Hacking Democracy" screened

Newbies aka people who viewed the documentary and whose names were not recorded all confirmed that Weds 8:15pm for screenings is manageable.

Group decided the next theme will be decided on Oct 23rd.
Group discussed refreshments and decided on popcorn. Exact budget allocation to be voted on.
Secretary will attempt to acquire JPEG template for posters on Sat. If not acquired, Celeste and Maddie will battle it out.
Maddie will provide documentary index type book for further listing of documentaries of interest.

Meeting called to order at 20:22

Budget is limited, agreed to seek partnership with other clubs on relevant themes for additional funding for refreshments/snacks

Discussion: Themes for screenings: Should they be organized by month? Not necessarily; they should be by number of films available.

Proposed themes:
- political for debates and campaign timing; proposed films are:
“Hacking Democracy”
“Unprecedented”
“Our Brand is Crisis”
“Swing State Ohio”

- art or artist biographical
- study abroad films
- food
- gender and sexuality
- global issues/ nature

Group moved to Audio Visual office to create shelf for films to use
SFX reserved The Mounds and GSC and relevant equipment for screenings

Secretary will email political science/studies professors for opinions/input on the selected films for this theme

At a further date, other clubs will be contacted regarding partnering in advertising and refreshment funding when themes come up
